will do. if anybody plans on getting this flywheel expect over a month to get it. unless they manufactured more than just my flywheel. fidanza was out of stock as well as the distributer so fidanza had to manufacter the part.

they said if i bring in the car tomorrow morning i will have it back in the evening.

so as most people whove been keeping up on this thread know. i worked out a deal with honda where they would install my clutch/flywheel for free since they charged me 300+ tax on mudguards for my fit sport that they couldnt install and never told me about it, tried to hide the cost.

i went to the dealership today with my parts to get them installed and the salesman said, okay i just need to check with the service manager to see what the difference would be...WHAT. i told him clearly when we worked out the deal that my friend would do it in his shop for 150$ as long as i lend a hand here and there. and that i would NOT have them do the clutch if i had to pay anything. i would be willing to pay for the trans fluid and that is IT.

well he talks to the service manager...youre looking at 500$ still in labor. so i left.

as long as my friend isnt busy this weekend hopefully we can get it installed and i'll have a review for you guys next week. i will take some pictures tonight of the flywheel if people are interested in what it looks like. i'll take a picture of it on the scale too

bah!

and most likely i will be taking honda to small claims court...i MIGHT see if they will credit me some $ for some extras may be...like a folding arm rest or something if they have those.

yep will do. any suggestions from anybody as to where i can buy the manual for the car(you know the kind that tells you how to install/take apart everything). and the clutchset tool. ive found a few places but would like to take alook at where others suggest getting them. preferably a place that could deliver them by the weekend. i dont care if the book is new or used but would like a new clutchset tool. ive found a few universal set tools on amazon and the likes...

you can download a online manual for the JDM fit, everything for installation should be the same. I used to have it downloaded, but a search on google can probably pull it up, if not helms inc.

i've had lightened flywheels before, they never really posed a problem in terms of driveability. Just keep on thing in mind: throttle control. You can no longer get away with abrupt throttle let offs and expect a smooth ride. Other than that, you'll enjoy nice pick up and go compared to your stockie flywheel. You'll like it, i promise

I don't think i'm going to install it before you, because i'm not in much of a hurry. I'm going to take this time and teach my gf how to drive stick since she can roast this clutch and it won't make me made :P

finally got this thing installed. weighed the stock flywheel and it came in at about 17lbs. fidanza lightened flywheel weighs 7lbs. def taking some getting used to. after the break in period i will get a good review on this thing by me and another fit owner who is close by. we will drive both cars and give our opinions on the difference of how it feels, and how it performs compared to the stock set up.

been such a long wait! so happy that its finally all done and installed.

~How many hours of labor is a flywheel install? This may be what I'm looking for. I'm not used to driving a 4 cylinder that feels like this.. My last car had a lightweight flywheel and I loved it, the fit stock takes like 2 seconds when you put in the clutch to drop 1k rpm

im not sure, friend did the job, replaced clutch with stock replacement and installed the fidanza lightened flywheel. 400$ is what it cost me in labor. dropped my car off at 1pm, picked it up at 10pm. qoutes from the dealer for the clutch job was 1,100$ just in labor.

think you can purchase the flywheel for around 320$. apparently the fit was a really difficult clutch job to do.

just got mine installed with an Exedy Stage1 clutch. The clutch has a stiffer pedal feel and although i haven't taken it to the canyons yet or even ran it hard (blue ballin the brake in period), its noticeably more grabby than stock. The flywheel is wonderful! You can totally feel the difference. I have the KWSC 5psi kit and i used to hate the bog uptil 3k. The flywheel lets me get out of the power deficit part of the power band and into boost a lot quicker. Then when 3k comes around the car just keeps pulling. Only did this once in third gear, but the difference was clear.

Filled up twice already, gas mileage hasn't been affected. Driveability is also the same, thanks to the used-to-annoy-the-crap-out-of-me rev hang. You can take your time shifting and not get punished by it with a jerky car. Don't really notice the car slowing down faster than usual when you lift off the throttle, so daily drivability is completely intact. Will give a full report after i hit the canyons.

So the flywheel did not help much with the "rev hang"?

i find it got rid of a lot of the rev hang...i dont think im bsing just because its new and excited, but i do think it got rid of quite a bit of the rev hang. i think may be you misunderstood what he said may be? i didnt quite get what he said either, haha.

so look forward to a few reviews, im gonna get some opinions on it from people at the meet and gotfitted is gonna give a review soon too. ill give another review also once my clutch is broken in a little.

let me clarify then. It does alleviate some of the rev-hang. Now instead of staying at your last RPM before you shifted for a couple of seconds, it sort of just briefly stays there and then drops. This helps in daily driving with a lightened flywheel by not letting the RPM's drop too fast and making it hard to shift smoothly (which is a problem with cars without the rev hang feature). an example of this would be this 350z i drove that had a lightened flywheel. Once you release the clutch the RPM's would drop really fast and you'd either have to shift fast to catch it or blip the throttle before you re-engage the clutch. Otherwise you'd be punished with a really rough shift as your engine speed catches up with your vehicle speed. Hope that clears things up.

On the contrary, the rev hang helped the flywheel, haha. What i meant with my previous post is that rev hang used to be annoying without the flywheel, but now with the flywheel its actually a blessing.
