Thermo Exhaust Wrap

Hi

i just installed my megan racing header. i was driving around and came back home to check if there was any leaks and when i open the hood there was alot more heat from the headers. My question is had anyone ever used thermo exhaust wrap on there header before and does it make big difference in reducing the temperature under the hood?

this is the product i want to get

THERMO-TEC EXHAUST WRAP: 1" X 50' (BLACK)-Options Auto Salon

thanks

Le

it reduces heat, but the heating and cooling of the header makes moisture that gets trapped and rots the header. i went through many racing back in the day, however it is possible the the new coated headers may survive.

Not with the coating on a Megan header, the coating on those headers is crap they're turn brown and start to rust within a year.

Dont use that stuff, as above it will cause more problems than its worth. Not sure what kind of coating, if any, was on your header, but you'd be much better off with a Jet Hot or some other ceramic coating.

Which coating did you get? The SS coating on them is shit. But it may also be because you live in Cali

so should i get it or not? The reason why i am getting the thermo wrap because i was kinda scared with the extra heat the hoses near the header would get damage

thanks

You can use some stainless steel zip ties to put the stock heat shield back on over your header.

That's what I did.
