if you want to do it, you can, I really don't get why people ask if they can or can't install an engine, if they want to they will. people like spending money on making it work.

you get props if you get it done, since you searched and you can't find it, that gives you kudos on the work to make it work.

No k20 engine fits (you make them fit)

I thought the K20s do very tightly fit in and only require reinforcements to hold it?

The J's Fit has K24 components, no? Think that's the closest.

the getinafits Fit is the most documented K20 swap ever done, that would be the best place to go.

but even his fit required a piece of his car to get a 'hole'.

I have no clue which K series motor fits without modification (cutting a piece of of the engine bay is considered modification)

All you need to install a k24 is the addition of a crv passenger side mount in addition to the parts you need for a k20 swap. Not sure if this goes for the newer k24z series blocks.

I know that if you do a k swap you have to cut into the drivers side frame rail a little and then reinforce it with the same thickness metal. That is because the k engine and tranny are slightly wider than the L series. Also you have to trim the rad support a little for the intake manifold to fit properly. The other two things that need to be done are moving the brake lines to make room and moving the abs module to make room so it does not hit the idler pully. I will be doing a k20z3 swap soon out of an 06 civic si. If you want more info on k swaps into a gd3 check out FITswap.com. There should be plenty of info on there for you! Another major thing to remember is that what ever k motor you go with the ecu will not run the fit's gauges or a/c heater controls. I know that hondata is working on a harness so you can use both the fit's ecu and the k motors ecu. This way you can use the stock gauges and have a/c if you want and the k series ecu will run the I-vtec in the k motor.

I believe that white fit with the k24 is turbo charged putting out like 700hp!!! I've seen it in a couple mag's and it's sick. The valve cover has a window in it so you can see the cam's moving!!! Personally 700hp is a little to much for my liking in this platform. I'm aiming for 300-350 all motor k20z3!!! Going to be picking up my bottom end, all the pulley's and accessories, and the intake manifold on thursday. Then the fun begins!!!

I'm aiming for 300-350 all motor k20z3!
while i don't doubt that a k20 could make 350 hp I seriously doubt the streetability of that motor. (no power in the lower revs) now I haven't been looking into k series lately and what they can do (i know they can put out a ton of power) but have you driven a car with a similar set up to what your putting in your car? you would have to seriously rev the engine or have shorter gearing to compensate for the lack of power in the lower revs

but thats just my 2 cents

alright buddies on fit freak
i would first like to thank the feedback ive had
i know its been a while since an update
and im sorry for the long post in advance

part one of k24 swap is complete
getting the car lol
thing is i got a new 09
which leads me to a few questions

is the engine bay different from the previous models?
cause if they are, a custom fab is probably required

also, im gonna be swapping the motor probably a few days after
i actually get the car itself
so if anyone needs a spare l15 pm me
it will be low mileage probably less than 100 lol
car is coming in november

because i am budgeted, i am in a bit of a pickle

1) should i get an accord k24 crv24 or a tsx24
is the extra compression in the tsx really worth the thousand more bucks?

and 2) 5 speed swap from a civic//rsx or 6 speed from a tsx//rsx types
i heard that the 5 speed might actually be better because of the higher
gear ratios but 6 speed is just so sexy

i know im asking a lot but i know you guys wanna see this come through
as much as i do ;]

answers with reasons would be great
and thanks in advance

btw..the 09 is tw ;]
