2009 Fit Exhaust Speculation

I've read that the 2009 Fit will have an integrated exhaust manifold. What do you guys think that will mean for potential modding of the exhaust system?

like the r18 in the civic? haven't heard anything regarding an integrated EM on the new L15 w/ivtec but that would be LAME if it were true

No possibility for aftermarket headers. That's all.

Now, no one said that ^_^

You can still get something from changing the pipe diameter, removing any resonators, adding a high-flow muffler and getting a cat-delete pipe.

Since they kinda changed it up by integrating the manifold, do you think it'd still be possible to do an engine swap on the 2nd gens?

Yep. With the swapped-in engine, you won't need the stock exhaust manifold anyway.

apparently he/she loves you. you stud you, all those folks on internet dating sites are fools. if only they knew that the real secret to falling in love over the net was flexing your brain muscle and dropping some science on honda swaps.

on a side note, i dont know much about integrated exhaust manifolds. in fact this is the first time i have heard of them but they sound like a sack full of frowns and unhappiness. is the cat a part of the header or can it be replaced?

I'm sure in the future all non performance/luxury hondas will have integrated manifolds. I believe they first appeared on 8th gen civics excluding the Si, and now are used in accords, elements, and now the new fit.

And the cat is separate from the integrated header.

The Cat. is separate:

The R-series was the first to implement the integrated manifold, at least for Hondas. The R18 is used in the new Civics, while the R20 is used in the CRV and new Accords.

True in other markets, but the usdm crv, accord, and element utilize the new k24z series which also have the header integrated into the manifold.
