NEW!!! PRM intake prototype

Here are a couple pics of the first prototype, this was just to figure out the final demensions and test the fit. The final version is going to have nipples for the breather tube and the temp sensor formed into the silicone section.

If you have any specific questions I'll try to answer them.

I like it a lot. Please provide more info. when you can. I am interested in what type of filter is in the system. Otherwise, the design eliminates the need for a heat shield, and eliminates the need for a shield or barrier to keep incoming rain water off the filter. I would love to post photos of my K&N short ram going into the trash can, but nothing has come along that convinces me that it is any better than the K&N mistake.

is that the opening in the last picture, or does the pipe run into the fender or down toward the front bumper? my friend had a cobb tuning intake on his impreza 2.5RS and it was the same design as this one, maybe they were working together on that one actually.

edit: here's a link to the cobb intake, i guess it was cobb/ and prm's Cobb intake or SPT (HKS) intake?? - The RS Club

PIYE-
Thanks for the PRM link. I like the intake even more now since I looked at their site. No mention of Honda Fit applications on it now, but I hope that that changes soon.

looking at all the new SRI's that are coming available has put be to one conclusion. Buy a 2.5" 90 degree section of hose a 2.5" 90" t6061 aluminum elbow and a K&N or AEM dryflow filter and for $60 you have the same intake that 80% of the companies are peddling.

well, not exactly. a lot of the better intakes have a spot to hook up the breather tube. some people think this isn't important, some do. the big name brands look a lot nicer than the home-made intakes too. in my opinion.

but from a performance aspect, yeah. you could be right. but i'd like to see dynos for the home-made intakes to compare with.

anyone else depressed on how awesome this could have been? I was hoping for a mid mounted filter and a tube going down where most CAI tubes go down, but then not over.
