exactly.....supercharger is driven from the crank and takes hp even when its not making hp....stay out of boost with a turbo and your mpg will remain the same.

I plan on boosting mine this summer. But I am waiting to see if gas prices go over $5/gallon first

I have had turboed cars before i know if i stay out of boost it will get them same. I am trying to see what a fit gets when its in boost so some one that drvies there car in boost alot chime in please. I hear the SC fits get around only 3-4 less MPG than they did when they were stock. So i just want to see peolpe who have them tell me what they are geting. thanks for the input.

I've been getting within 1-2 MPG of my pre-boost averages.. which to me is pretty damn amazing since I'm certainly not shy of teh booost. I got 33-35 in the city before boost, and now I'm getting 30-34 according to my last 4 tankfulls. WOOT!

My best tank on the Base KW kit was 41mpg. I avgd about 36-38 religiously.... i am now at 12 psi and am avging about 34mpg.... thats with big 310cc injectors. If i mash all the time... thats a different story. When I was at 8psi I did a canyon run and still got 30mpg on that tank.

It depends on how you drive.

If I drive hard (boosting a lot of the time) I see about a 10-15% decrease. If I drive like a granny and try to stay out of boost, I don't see any decrease in mpg.

So, I fixed my rich idle problem a few days ago (some of you will remember my battle with 11:1 AFRs at idle).

Well, long story short my gas milage has jumped another 3 mpg!

Which makes sense, I guess, as I'm not spewing all of my 94 octane goodness all over the pavement at every stoplight, but it sure got me excited! Especially with gas being down to $2.19 here.. my gawd it's cheap to run this car!
