Has anybody done any weighing?

Hey guys. Has anybody ever weighed any of the exhaust components and done a comparison between aftermarket pieces? Looking to see what kind of weight savings we can see. Or maybe even weight gains. It'd be nice if we can shed off another 50 lbs and a couple of whp with just exhaust components?

Im most likely going to go the T1R system and when I get them I will do before/after dyno's and put each piece side by side on a scale. Maybe someone has already done this.

Spoon Sports will likely be the lightest weight exhaust compenents on the market.
But you will not be shaving 50 lbs. on the exhaust alone.

Bump on this. I am also interested in approximate weight differences, specifically between the stock and an aftermarket midpipe, as well as headers, if possible.

Like tofuman said, it definitely won't be 50 pounds...

From browsing the forum I've read that the stock axleback is about 10 pounds...

Wow 10 lbs is nothing. On my s2k the stock exhaust weighs 60 lbs and most aftermarket are around 18. Plus the header also weighs a ton. Guess that's not the case with the Fit. Ill weigh everything as soon as it starts coming in and see what kind of numbers I get. Hoping to get at least 25.

I would think the full j's racing titanium exhaust would give you the most weight savings. Others who have purchased it says it weighs practically nothing.

Would be much appreciated if you could weigh the parts... Good data for those looking for weight reduction.

go with the full j's exhaust to save most weight. you will be short of saving 50lbs when replacing the stock exhaust with a full titanium exhaust so tear out your back seats too

Well the car is a daily driver so the back seats will stay. Although the spare tire and tools will come out. I also have the passwordjdm intake and lightweight battery coming in and ill also do a weight comparison between the intakes and batteries. In the end im hoping to have a car with a little more performance while also increasing the mpg due to the lightweight.

even if your car is a daily driver do you regularly carry passengers in the back? im just a commuter and i only have a passenger every now and again so my back seats are in the garage. saves about 63 lbs. i also have the passwordjdm intake and you will not be disappointed.

Not really but you never really know. Ill take them out if I know I wont be using them.

Is the password intake noticably lighter than the stock piece?

Ill also eventually get some lightweight wheels. I think it was for every 1lb of rotational mass equals out to about a 4lb weight reduction, or something along those lines. Im wondering if its possible to get the car down to ~2400lbs while keeping a full interior.

It is within your reach. I weighed in @ 2400 flat when I got my suspension corner balanced. Here are my modifications:

15" Enkei RPF-1 (9.5 lb each, I believe)
Falken Azenis 205/50/15
T1R Coilovers
Progress RSB
Tanabe front underbrace
1/8 tank
Removed spare tire & jack

Of course... Although this is with a "full interior," this is for autocross setup... So it will be much more with your spare tire, jack, and tank full, since liquid is especially heavy...

+1 for the intake weight comparison as well. I've always wondered if there is a significant difference...

my intake weighed in at 1.25 lbs look for the light weight thread to see what the oem box weighs.
what is the weight of the oem rims by themselves? i heard around 16lbs. i wonder how much weight you saved by going to the Enkei RPF-1.
i went with the konig heliums for wheels (10.6lbs) because the enkei's cost some bills.

Gas weighs ~6lbs / gallon so when you're near empty you'll have the 50 lbs you're looking for
