Spoon Engine Torqe Damper installation review.
Spoon Engine Torqe Damper installation review.
So I just installed my Spoon ETD. Should have been a super quick and easy install right? NO! First of all, the hardware supplied with the kit is CRAP! I broke the head off two of the bolts from the upper mount. Once I got replacement hardware, install was pretty strait forward, even though the instructions supplied with the USDM version were in KOREAN! The upper bracket rubs on THE A/C line, so I'm gonna have to re-locate that line soon. As far as the function goes, there is a noticeble differance. Firmer shifts, less wheel hop... etc, all the expected. I have the damper set on the lightest setting, no additional pre-load (I'll mess with that later). I have noticed a lot more dash rattling at the above 4500 rpm range than before. No noticeble vibrations through the steering column. My kit came with the bolt that goes in the second hole on the block itself, some people complained that it was missing in previous kits. The bling factor is nice though, everyone's like "oohhh, what's that?"
Install = C+
Function = A-
Bling = A+
