you can try contacting either hks or ajracing and see if they will sell the manifold seperatly from the turbo kit.
i am currently in the process of building my own.

depending if you can weld or if you can get the manifold from hks or ajracing, you might want to consider getting the head flange from weirtech and bringing it to a shop and have them make you a manifold.

get a custom sidemount turbo manifold like this one

and this is what mine HKS looks like... so tight in there you basically have to rip everything out to access it.

I tried calling ajracing, and they where a no, wondering if you had better luck with hks. I did build my own, log as not much else will fit, but some of the welds are relay difficult to get at, hence exhaust leaks. Hoping to build a version two soon with no leaks.

this might be a really bad idea, but has anyone ever thought of "customizing" like a T1R or WeaponR street header to bolt up to a turbo?

I have a shop somewhat close by that likes to do custom turbos, but ive only seen two of them and both of them the turbo was mounted more on the tail pipe than the header.

Bump to that, post the link, I have a friend that's going to be in hong Kong in a few weeks, I believe she speaks some Chinese.

Most of these companies (AJ/HKS) do use Chinese to manufacture the manifolds, good chance that this is the same one that one of those company's use.

The rear mount turbo isn't the worst idea, but then you have to run oil and charge-piping back, witch may be a more difficult problem then building/finding a manifold.

When you say "rear mount" do you mean onto the end of the header or where the muffler is...?
