quick question about engine mods!

I'm really happy with my Fit, but there are times I wish it had more pep. I thought about going FI, but thats too much money and I'd rather save up that money to get a used miata or s2k as a track car. So, I was thinking about doing some engine modifications such as CAI, exhaust, etc. I don't really know much about these, so if I can get some information on this that'd be great. Also, how much of a hp gain could I expect to see? I just want to feel a little bit more pep in the engine haha. I have an 08 fit MT in case that makes a difference. Thanks!

without an engine swap or fi, youre just spending money for sound or looks. you wont see much hp out of the l15

For raw hp, obviously not a ton to be had out of this little engine . . . But if you look at % of improvement on bolt-on dynos, it's respectable. A 10-15% increase in torque across the board with only inexpensive bolt-ons seems to be very doable, and that's an improvement you'll be able to feel.

But again, obviously not gonna make it a drag monster.

Do a search. All those topics have been covered.

A synopsis:
Short ram, cold air, or chamber intakes will give you a few horsepower. Likely not more than 5. Biggest gain will be throttle response and sound.

Axle back exhaust will net you sound. Maybe 2 hp.

A cat-back will give you more sound, and likely no more than 8-10 horsepower if you're lucky.

FI will give you anywhere from 25 horsepower to 50+. My T1R turbo kit gives me a boost of around 60.

i see. I want to install a cold air intake, i've heard about problems like hydrolocking but I live in CA so that probably won't be a problem (i'm assuming thats when water gets into it). I've looked around and it seems like injen is the best, but I just wanted to get other people's opinions.

I have the Injen also, it sounds great, plus it makes lil increase in hp at high rpm. Or so, I never have it dynoed, just my butt is telling me LOL. The cool thing about injen CAI is that it can be convert to a short ram.

I see, how does the injen cai convert to short ram? It sounds really good but I am of course worried about hydrolocking in the event of a freak rain. Also, if you have any youtube clips of it I'd love to hear how it sounds

you should buy the best intake in the market for our car:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/prm-...ntake-gd3.html

PRM intake. from what i think the guy is saying he made +7hp without exhaust (99 hp his silver fit). his other fit had a full exhaust which made 100 hp (his silver fit).

i would go with PRM if i wasn't boosted.
