i wonder how much it costs. Only problem i see, is that since there are mounts, why not swap for a K. Unless this engine performs better, it may not be worth it.

there is no head work done to this motor. its all bottom end and prototype cams and tuned ecu. the head ports are too thin for them to do anything to keep decent specs.

so...

I'd rather see someone work with the stock sohc than swap in a motor where they have to hack the frame

i always was impressed with bizi and his famous f22 motors.

there is a guy who goes against the dohc normal and shows what a sohc can do.

but i doubt he could help with the l15a.

well, from what i understand, the L15 is a very light block, that cant hold too much power, cause the aluminum isnt thick enough to withstand it. the only thing i see working is maybe a port polish, sleeves, and higher compression pistons, and h beams and a 3 angle valve job. that might give you about 40 more horse power with proper intake an exuast. i will let you know once my motor is out of warranty. im gonna try to build it up for all motor. j's racing sell a throttle body for the GE8 too.

I guess you could recast the block and head out of something stronger but to me for that kinda dollar a K swap would be mor bang for the buck. Or maybey even going backwards and swapping a B series in but I would supposed that be some hard work and a pretty penny envolved in that to so, I guess that if you could get your hands on the toda motor you would have to be happy with what you got plus bolt on's

Just my .02 cents

I am a motorcycle guy and if you look at the kawasaki ZX14 engine and Hayabusa engine you can see way more hp out of smaller blocks. If I didnt need air conditioning I would swap a hayabusa engine and trans into the fit. slap a turbo on it and it would be sick. there is an electric ac compressor that someone is working on that operates off of battery that would be ideal for the swap just add a second bigger watt batter and done. just an idea.

the only problem with swapping one of these motors into the fit is that you would burn through clutches like crazy cause it is not meant to hold that much weight and torque. but it would be sweet to see someone do it.

For that kinda money and work I would get turbo the stock motor and build it for turbo. Or maybey buy the turbo deisel motor from a jdm fit and just boost it som more, H.P wouldnt be that much but the torque would be enuff for some good times. There is a guy I work with that has a TDI golf he has done some work to that lil thing is fast as hell.
