What weight oil are you boosted guys using?

Would it change if you had an oil cooler installed?

Just using Mobil 1 5w-20 right now. Planning to switch to 0w-30 on the next change.

That's for the base KWSC A/T

Does any of the other boosted fits want to chime in on this? is it alright to stay with the 5w20 or should all the boosted fits move on up to 0w/5w30?

so we all know that stock we run 5w20, But when we run a boosted setup our engines will be running hotter than before, since we are running hotter we will want a more viscous oil that will "hold together" better at the higher temperatures, thus the 30, as the 20 will be more fluid or liquid and IMO will not coat/protect the parts as well.

and also to clarify, 5w vs 0w doesn't really matter unless you are in colder climates where your oil might freeze and sludge (and this is where the thinner 0w overcomes the 5w or 10w oils to prevent this from occuring)

I'm pretty sure i'm right, but wouldn't mind getting an earful if I am misinforming people

A high-quality 5w30 like Torco Oil is what we recommend to our customers.

I used 0w-30 for one interval to see if it helped with mpg as they claim... didn't see much or any difference for the most part. Engine was louder than before but didn't have any problems during that 5k interval. Using 5w-30 now and will be sticking with that.

I just filled up with 10w-30 for the first time (recommended weight in Asia) and the car seems to love it. I mean, I regularly use 5w-30 since the first oil change, but with 10w-30 the car's engine is noticeably quieter, and just sounds smoother. I doubt it'll have too much effect on fuel economy, as I was getting great mileage with 5w already.

With the KWSC 10 PSI kit I have started using 10W30 Mobil 1.. With anything lighter the back window and hatch becomes coated with oil from blow by... I have also noticed that the exhaust doesn't smell as strong of un burned fuel, fuel mileage has been more consistent and I have picked up a couple more MPG. With the base kit 5W20 worked well with no problems as far as consumption or fuel mileage.
