Glass pack mufflers

There's a muffler shop closing down near my apartment building and they're having a liquidation sale. I found a Flowtech glass pack muffler with a 2" OD inlet/outlet for $40.00 installed with 2" piping (axleback).

Whenever I hear "glass pack muffler" I think CherryBomb. I've never heard of this company before, Flowtech. I researched the company online and the product description says their mufflers are packed with a "ceramic glass" when most companies use fiber glass

Glass Pack Muffler - Flowtech
^^That's a 2.5" product description. The fact that it says it's a muscle car application is a little concerning but I figure that it's technology isn't much different from an N1 style muffler -- besides the packing material.

If I decide to buy it, i'm definitely going to paint it flat black. There's no way i'm going to be driving around with a dog penis poking out the back of my Fit LoL

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

there are a few people on here that have these, id do it, anything sounds better than stock unless u just take off the muffler for fun , but a glasspack muffler would sound pretty sick especially if u paint it flat black, i mean you cant beat the price, i went the expensive route and got the hfp muffler, i love the muffler to death but i would like to have a lil bit of a more rumble. but hey when you dont got the money like i dont than u gota live with what ya got

Yeah, I can't go wrong with the price... Except unless it sounds like poo afterward

I think i'll look up some videos on youtube when I get home from work today. If I end up going this route, i'll have a vid and review for those also interested in glass pack mufflers. Stay tuned

Nothing would be worse than a Honda Fit with RED ROCKET.

have them tuck it. high up there and have an angled down tip. i love the look of my fit, it looks like i have no muffler(well i dont) but you know...it just looks cleaner without anything.

thanks for the suggestion, SD. i agree, the GD looks so much cleaner without a muffler -- there isn't even an indent in the lip for one.

Trust me im sure it wont sound bad at all. It will have a nice tone to it. U can always make it reversable and just weld the bracket to the muffler so you can swap it out rather than destroying the stock pipe. Bec once u cut that bracket then u have to get a new b pipe. I was thinking about taking out the resonator and put in brackets so if i wanted to make it quite again than all i have to do is bolt it back on.

UPDATE

The muffler shop was out of perforated core glasspack mufflers and only had louvered versions with a 2.25OD left over so I backed out.. damn, I knew I waited too long.

I'll update this thread again if/when I find another shop who will give me the same deal posted above.
