AT Transmission cooler for the Fit

I'm looking for an aftermarket transmission cooler for the Fit. Has anyone ever thought of this too? Any suggestions?

well...i did this setup w/ my old auto 92 civic hatch. Most auto trannies have built in AT tranny coolers. They are just lines that run from the tranny to the bottom of the radiator and back out the other side of the radiator and back to the tranny. The AT coolant just runs through a tube that the radiator coolant surrounds to keep it cool. I hope u get it.

Newayz, i purchased this for my hatch...

It is super high quality transmission cooler from Summit racing's own brand of parts. I purchase parts from Summit RAcing all the time (for my 450hp RV project )

All you gotta do is find out which rubber line is the inlet and which is the outlet. then u take the inlet from the tranny to the inlet of the tranny cooler and take the outlet of the tranny cooler and hook that up to the inlet stock radiator tranny cooler. You do not have to touch the radiator tranny cooler outlet pipe that goes back to the tranny. I hope i didn't confuse u.

To be honest, i dont think our cars get hot enuf for you to need anything more then the stock tranny cooler. For my 92 civic hatch, i had it turbo'd and tuned @ 175hp (yes on the stock auto tranny and engine) and the cooler was a necessity b/c the tranny would get like 2x hotter lol.

Thanks for the info Kevin. It all makes sense. I plan on doing a few track events with the Fit and I just want to keep the temp down on the track. Anything I can do to stack the cards in my favor.

I will look into Summit.

well...you could upgrade the transmission coolant to a higher performance one such as ROYAL PURPLE trick-shift AT transmission coolant. I was also running this coolant in my EG and it held up nicely. Made my 92 auto tranny shift like a 2007 tranny. Cleaned it up a bit. You could also invest in a magnetic transmission fluid plug. Basically it is a tranny plug w/ a powerful magnet on the end of it to pick up small particles. I recommend this one from Mfactory (same company i purchase my HID's and magnetic drain plugs from) and there company is super high quality stuff.
