Great Intake Deal

Hey everyone. For anyone looking for a really affordable intake, I "built" one on eBay inexpensively. Ebay ID chewgum99, is selling FUJITA SRI intake pipes only for $29. I guess he bought liquidated stock, because I received it in a Fujita box with Fujita emblems on it.

Add a generic filter, and a 2.5"-2.5" silicone couple with clamps and voila, cheap intake. I think I spent about $45 for the whole rig, not bad for a brand-name SRI.

$.99
$11.98

I'll have to throw up pictures of mine on here if I ever get to leave work .

Nice. I checked it out but it says its only for 07-08. Either way its a nice way of keeping things on a budget.

Yeah I guess I forgot to specify, it is a first-gen (GD3) intake. Sorry daivee, didn't want to get the GE guys hopes up...

Thanks

I just bought one. Why spend time on a DIY with this for less! Did you use a 2.5" ID x 2.5" long coupler? Did the filter come with its coupler affixed or use a short coupler with 2 clamps? Looks kinda tight on chewgum99's pics. Is "a silly millimeter longer" on the filter gonna be a headache?

for you GD guys, all you need is a 2.5inch 90degree elbow, 2-3 inches of 2.5inch piping, and a 2.5 filter

lucky bastards!!!!! lol

I can't remember the exact dimensions. I traded my Fit for a Mini about a month ago, so I don't have it to look at. I'd say the coupler was 2.5" ID by about 4" long. If you have anything shorter you should have some wiggle room for sure. The filter had its own integral coupler of typical length, maybe 2" long.

How are you feeling about the trade? I thought about doing that and getting a JCW Mini Cooper S or even the GP but I drive about 30k/yr in the Fit and don't want to be replacing the mini in 3 years due to reliability.

Practicality of the Fit is way better too but I found a 2011 JCW Mini for $22,000 last year locally and really really thought about it. Drove/sounded fantastic. It didn't have HIDs which I think should be standard on it, nor did it have that awesome sunroof so missing two things I really wanted kept me from pulling the trigger.

If you want it, get it. If reliability is more of a concern, don't. I've purchased cars that I know have reliability issues (Ex: 2000 BMW 740i) but I wanted it bad enough so I purchased it. And I had zero issues with the BMW until I drove 1.5hrs out of 2hrs to trade it in for my 2015 Fit. Almost got away with having great memories of that car too.

Choose wisely!
