Nissan Engine Swap

Nissan Engine Swap
I know this may be a bit of a stupid question and such but I'm going for it anyways.
So, my brother's moving away, and he's giving me his 2007 Honda Fit... I currently have access to late-90s Nissan Engines such as a RB20DET and a RB25DET. Just wondering what it would take and what kind of work would have to be put in to a project such as this... My dad knows how to do engine swaps and I kinda want something to do, being a 16 year old kid, I have nothing better to do. Would somebody be able to tell me what I would need such as engine mounts and transmissions and such. And cutting and welding is no big deal.
Just some opinions would be appreciated.

Anything is possible but making an RB transverse mounted/finding transmission/bellhousing/wiring/etc etc etc etc etc is way more work than it's worth. It would 100% be custom fabrication.
I understand you're young and don't know much about this stuff, it's good to learn. If you really want to learn start with something simpler that has a well documented roadmap... for you it would be installing a Honda K motor in your GD. You will need to buy a motor and everything that you need, but it will still cost way less and take less time than trying to figure out how to put an RB in.

If you have access to an RB then you should be able to access a K-series motor instead
Or just be practical and drive/mod the GD instead of trying to create a massive headache for yourself with swapping a motor in

the physical dimensions of the RB series motor will not fit in the honda fit frame rail, let alone bolted to a transmission.
If you had a decent chunk of money ($15,000) you could cut the firewall and build a custom transmission tunnel and do a RWD swap with the RB in the fit. However it would be custom everything and take lots and lots of fabrication and time to do the swap.
What are your plans to do with the car? What would you do with the added power?
A turbo on the stock gd3 platform would really open up your eyes to just how nimble the car really is.
A k20 or k24 swap would be an easier alternative if you are set on doing a motor swap since parts are already off the shelf available.

You should ask your dad what he thinks, since he's experienced in it. He should let you know whether or not he thinks he can do it. I assume you'll be asking for his help anyway?

I agree with others. I would do a K20 swap then turbo or supercharge it, then sell your old Fit motor.
Or, sell the Fit and use the money on one of the Nissan engines you have access to and find a Nissan chassis to put it in.

I do have access to some K series engines, and I asked my dad and he said to fit a i6 in that car alone I would probably have to do some major, major mods. So I guess I'll buy a k20 or K24 and a RSX tranny and some engine mounts and stuff.
Thanks everyone.
