Question L15 or K20 - UK Jazz

Hey everyone,

I own a UK 2007 Honda Jazz (What is effectively the GD/GE). Its the L13A i-DSI engined model.

As some of you over seas may be aware, we did not get the L15A VTEC engine in our Jazz's.

In a years time or so, once I have the funds, I plan on beefing up the Jazz's power - the only real way to do this seems to be to actually swap the entire engine out.

Here's my question, what would be easier/cheaper:

Buying a K20 in the UK with all the various ancillaries needed to swap it into the Jazz.

Or

Importing an L15 from the US/Japan and turbo-ing it along with various ancillaries.

Obviously money is an object, but my thought is the L15 would be more straight forward in a sense. Being it'd be from a very similar car and surely would not need much work for mounts to line up, nor much work on custom stuff just for it to run in the car.

My overall goal is to be able to have MY Jazz, running around 150bhp (I know the k20 would be more), without breaking the bank every week fueling it up - hence the L15 idea.

Anyway, hit me with your thoughts people...

If I was going to go through the effort of swapping it, I'd probably go with a K. The L swap probably would be easier, but for the small gains and difficulty importing the engine and sourcing parts for an imported engine later on, I dunno.

You'd have to build and/or boost the L to get 150whp.

The L15 will be easier to fit, maybe not with a turbo installed, but if you have an empty engine bay and can drop in a K then do it. An NA build K will have more power/torque then a turbo's L15. Anyone in the states with a GD that has the means grab a K does the swap, so go K!

An L15A with a Rotrex S/C can meet your target 150WHP.
