Fixing dents too expensive!!!!!
Fixing dents too expensive!!!!!
I have this very tiny indentation on one of the rear doors. You can only see it if you look at it at an angle or if the light hit it a certain way.
I visited a body shop that used to have paintless dent removal but the guy told me that they didn't offered it anymore, but that he could give me an estimate for body work.
He took the Vin# and came back 10 minutes later. Total cost $284 and two days in the shop.
I am going to see how much a Paintless Dent Removal only shop will charge.
But what is the point? Am I going to fix every dent everytime?
I allready make sure I park far away and not going to places that are crowded.

lol, I feel your pain!
I get my car about de-dinged once every two years. Seems to be the right amount of time between to keep my ride looking new. I think it is worth it, the dents that you can just see in certain lighting drive me crazy!
I have found it dosn't matter what you do to stay away from potential door dingers, they eventually get you in the end!

don't trip so much. A paintlesss dent removal dude here in cali usually charges $80 a panel (aka one door) for as many dents it has. I have one small crease from someone not knowing how to back up outa a spot and a dent w/ a bad paint chip on my drivers side rear door. gotta find time 2 take it in tho. =]
i really dont know where I can find some paintless dent remover here in Puerto Rico. Wish someone would charge me $80 to relieve my pain; the rear right door is the one that has taken all the punishment by far.
Good news!! Getting it fix.
I had a different estimate from a Paintless dent removal. It will be $129. I will get it done this tuesday.
He said he will get it to like brand new condition or I don't have to pay.
He works with this other guy that does paint touch up, and also removes dents on rubber bumpers.
They must be pretty good because they have contracts with all the franchised dealers in eastern North Carolina. The rates start at $80 dollars.
I met him at my local Mazda dealer where he was working on this vehicle. They have all this tools that look like metal rods and they massage the metal back to the original form.
I ended up messing the dent further and that is why I got charged $129. I purchased one of those glue dent pulling kits and now it looks worse.
When you do that the memory in the metal gets more difficult to get back in shape and takes longer.
He told me it will take one and a half hour to complete.
I am glad I am going this way and not having to do traditional body work.

I have a very noticeable dent in my front passenger door due thanks to someone opening their door into my car. It drives me crazy, but I think I'm going to wait awhile before having it fixed. I have quite a few chips on my front bumper/hood that I want to get touched up at the same time, so I'm going to wait until I have the time and money to get it all fixed at once.
I've used paintless dent repair before. It seems that after about six months, the ding was back in the same spot. Anyone else experience this?
It's baffling. I think it's almost like a scam to use before selling a car. Just my two cents.
