Seibon's Quality?

I have access to a really cheap combo price for OEM style CF Hood and Hatch from Seibon from a local shop I work for.

What's everyone's take on the quality of Seibon's products? How's the fit and finish? Is it all carbon or carbon top and fiberglass bottom on the hood, etc etc?

my bro has a Seibon CFH on his 02 RSX. Great product, he's very happy with it, NO problems w/ clear coat as I've seen many problems w/ other CFH around town. Looks brand new still and he's had it for a year now. Fitment was great too. I forget if the latch is metal or not though..

The latch is metal.

I said it in another thread...my Evo had a Seibon and it yellowed in the Florida sun after 8 months. Not bad but enough to notice. I would definitely clear it with a UV clear. I have had Fiber Images and no issues whatsoever.

Good luck though. I love some carbon fiber!

^^That's exactly what I wanted to know, hot weather survivability on the finish of the hood. I guess I could just apply some of the 3M clear film that they use on expensive cars to protect from sun rays and rock chips from daily driving.

I paid like $100 for the hood to be prepped and cleared with a UV protectant. I will turn purple in the face preaching...I have had enough CF hoods, trunks, wings, etc...they have all turned mildly yellow. Don't get me wrong...they are top notch units, but there needs to be some pre-emptive action so nothing goes wrong in the future.

Thanks for the heads up.

A friend of mine had a VIS hood on his corolla for about 3 years before some jack ass plowed into his car while it was parked. Shined like new still, he just kept it waxed and protected and never had an issue.
