the TRUTH about jdm experience badges
im sure you have seen those jdm driver experience badges for your car. i, myself thought they were kinda cool. so i asked my buddy that lives in japan to get me one. when he went to get one they told him that you have to be in the first two years of driving to have the beginner badge or over 65 to have the experience badge. so all you people with the experienced badges, all your saying is "look out! im an old fart that is a danger on the road"
sad, but its the truth

haha yea. i didnt understand it until about two hours ago. i thought "experienced driver" meant "good driver". but actually, we should impliment something like this in the usa. i believe the world would be a safer place if we had more strenuous driving tests. i think driving tests should be based on reaction and good judgement.

well, if the badges actually meant you were a good driver, i would get one. i mean, it is a japanese car. its like people getting the red dot for the fit emblem. no one researches it to find out that the red dot means its a diesel engine and the blue dot means its petrol. people just want them cause they look cool.

LOL the leaf symbol or teardrop symbol both look like cool logos to me, but im not that crazy on going into what everyones into just cuz its the new thing.
even if its a jdm thing for looks n yeah, the meaning counts to me. its not my first two years driving and im not old.
some japanese dude comes over to US, "wtf. . . why does everyone in america suck at driving?"

sorry, im retarded. i was reading about how the diesel engine is comming out for the euro market and they were talking about the two current engines. i got mixed up. 1.3 i-DSI is the red dot and the 1.5 VTEC is the blue dot. both are petrol. i wasnt thinking. sorry bout that

He was answered as if he were an average joe asking for the badge. You have to be either in your first 2 years of track time to have the beginner badge, but if youre over 65 you can automatically get the experienced badge.
Basically, in your first 2 years you get the beginner badge and afterwards you get the experienced badge. But they DO automatically give you the experienced badge if your over 65 though. Your friend was probably told that because since he's apparently not a track driver himself he was told that he either had to have over 2 years of driving experience or over 65 to get the experienced badge. Either that or start driving at the track and get the beginner badge.
I'm not defending the JDM craze, I myself find it kinda cool but I don't wear one on my car, I just put a magnetic beginner badge on my car when I go to the track. But I think this merits the clarification. The experienced badge does not mean your an old fart, it means that either you really are an experienced driver (More than 2 years of experience) or an old fart.
