I have a 2007 Vivid blue pearl fit. I went to the parkign lot and saw that I have a paint chip on my drivers door that goes all of the way through to the metal. It is starting to rust, and it is going to take me until atleast thanksgiving to be able to fix it. Am I going to have to sand the area down, then repaint a larger area, or is there a way to get the small area worked out, like sanding, primier, paint, and clear? Thanks for any help.

May be some touch up paint depending on how bad it is?

 

It definitely touches metal. I think it is starting to form rust. If I jsut paint over it the rust is going to simply spread under the paint and bubble the paint around it.
