Rear door scratched And dented! help

hi my Black 07 Fit was in a parking lot and of course some #$%@% was pulling out of the parking spot and took half my rear door with them.

i am so upset. the scratch and dent is almost the length of the door about 4 inches below the handle. it becomes a scratch only on the molding part that hits the door.

Allstate calls it a small scratch - and gave me an estimate of 836.00 to fix. small for them maybe, for me the car looks like hell.

i have a 500.00 deductible. so i took it to Maaco. now this is my baby and this guy wants to take a small dent out of my front door and repaint both so their is no difference in the paint color! And give me the special price of 900.00 for both doors. the dent in the front door is a ding i have lived with for about a year, and can continue to live with but he says it should be done. Yeah cause you will probably screw up my paint job.

anyway he says he can only take about 200 off the 900 if he doesnt do the front door and it will take him a week to do it. Of course i dont have rental on my policy.

havent gone anywhere else yet. any advice on where to get this car fixed, i am in the NYC/NJ area. just dont know if i am getting screwed here or what is up. i just need to get this fixed as inexpensive as possible.

Have you checked with your honda dealership to see how much they would charge to do the job? Also was it a hit and run?

can u take some pix? it's hard 2 understand what it looks like. Most likely u can take it to a paintless dent removal guy (PDR, search in google or yahoo pages) and they do high quality work also. They touch up, but can remove dents w/o having to repaint.

Sorry!

If it's your baby don't let Maaco touch it. Pay Honda their price!
