you can still keep the rear crash bar
just shorten the length according to the jdm bumper and weld the joints so the crash bar is shorter
then bolt it back on

uhh no. the usdm crash bar is a tubular piece of sheet metal. there isnt enough room on the mounting posts to shorten it and reweld it. besides, whats the use of even having a crash bar if you are going to reweld it and possibly make it weaker. you can either go for the no crash bar, source a jdm crash bar or (the easiest, but most expensive option) buy a j's racing rear monocoque. thats what i have on mine.

Since the REAL JDM Fit doesn't come with rear bumper crash bar.....most ppl either leave it off or use the J's racing bar .....THOSE ARE NO GOOD !
this is the only way your insurence will cover you if you get into a rear end accident.
at least with ICBC they say..

theyre the same, the mexican Fit just uses the MMC base bumper, rather than the 1.5S pre MMC and MMC that most people are used to.

Anyone have the OEM Honda part number for the rear bumper? I need to replace my rear bumper due to an accident. I already have the J's Racing rear monocoque.

I have a friend in Ireland but she needs the part number to get me a price.

This is the rear bumper I'm looking for, pix borrowed from JDMchris.com

chris they are NOT the same on the "crash bar". the mexico core support has a completely diff radiator mounting setup. it also has a completely diff "crash bar" than a jdm gd1. atleast from the ones ive had, they all differed from both jdm gd1 and jdm gd3

i believe they dont use rear crash bar but they use something like two plastic/foam guards in the back instead of a steel bar.

japanparts.com wants 36,000 yen(JPY) (367.20 USD) for the rear bumper and then 41,034 yen(JPY) (418.55 USD) for freight by boat for a total of 77,034 yen(JPY) (785.75 USD)

Chassis code is DBA-GD3, model 1.5S, 2005-2007

I'm still waiting on them with the Honda part number so I can have my friend in Ireland check it out for me. On the plus part it comes pre-painted from the factory.

This is the J's bar I will be using with the JDM rear bumper. Too bad the 2007-2008 Honda Fit from Mexico isn't the 1.5S one I'm looking for.
