Fit Bra?

You know, they say 80% of American women wear the wrong size bra....

... anyway, I realized I might be making a roadtrip to Phoenix in January next year, and I'll have my Fit by then. I've made the trip before in a couple previous cars... and ended up with either a metric ton of bug splatter, or quite a few rock chips.

So I decided if I ever make a roadtrip again, I'm going to get a bra. Does anyone make one for the Fit yet?

i'm looking at the parts list now and there's a honda-made "full nose mask" for $171.70 at the store where i work. that, btw, is the "installed price."

$98.04 at Bernardi.

Apparently there is a bit of installation needed though.

I'm sure there's some 'installation' needed... the bra doesn't magically put itself on! I want something that isn't difficult to put on, isn't expensive, and can be taken off pretty easily. I don't think I'll be leaving it on permanently. In fact, you should NEVER leave a car bra on permanently... it can really fook up the paint under it.

Aren’t Bugs are easier to remove than abrasion scratches? Watch out for your west TX dust storms and park into the wind. That crap under the bra is brutal. Not to mention the UV faded / unfaded contrasts.

Karvin, yeah, bugs are easy to remove, but still a PITA. Last time I drove to Phoenix, some retarded west Texas county paved their part of I10 with the tar/gravel (they put down tar and drop loose gravel on it, that's it), and an 18 wheeler I passed was kicking up tons of the gravel. A bra would protect the front end decently.

I would only be using it on road trips. Otherwise, it will be off of the car.

No question, a bra will help and is certainly 1/4 the cost of a repaint.
My Vivid Blue hood, at 6500 miles, has several chips already And with our salty winter roads it's just a matter of time before the rust takes hold.
I plan on refinishing it after the warranty period. I generally put on up to 30k miles/yr. so another 30k and I'll be pulling the hood. I'll either go with a powder clear coat or a 2-k clear coat with a flex additive, like the bumpers have. I'm fortunate enough to be in the industry so I may have to call in a few favors.

You could always use masking tape. Sexy RS4. Yumm. Not my car btw. The guy bought it in NY and drove it back to FL.

If I were tracking the car, masking tape would be a good option

Once I get my Porsche all sorted out, painted and good enough for track use, I'll probably mask off most of the front end to protect it!

Masking tape works wonders for a road trips!

If anything you should also consider an invisible bra.

Isn't that the 3M Painters Tape. I've heard that stuff is great. Easy off with no tape residue. True?

Does it matter if they make a bra for the Fit? 80% of us are already wearing the wrong size

It is 3M Painters Tape. No tape residue whatsoever. I think it took me a whole two minutes to get all the tape off It very useful and very effective.

Clear bra would be the shiznit... but heard that Wave did his... to the tune of around $600.

Can't afford that, so a ~$100 removable bra will do the job.

Did it come with a laser shield with a pin-point barrier system or something?

I was quoted $350 for part of the hood and the front bumper (WRX)!

Maybe he went to an expensive installer?

I would get a professional to install it as well if you have the money for it. I got mine installed for CAD$400, but I know the installer
