I had the front of my wife's passat done in the 3m film and it's worth EVERY penny. Just think of the cost of refinishing your hood, fenders and bumper once and it MORE than covers the cost of the film.

It was about $450 for the headlights, hood, bumper pieces and fender trim. This was 3 years ago.

i am deffinatly getting an invisible bra of some kind this time around. i was told that it is easier to install than window tint.

here are the 3M kits:

There is also X-pel which I got.

I'm not brave enough to do it so I had an authorized installer do it. The Fit kit is expensive (~$700+ for everything). If you can get it wholesale and do it yourself you can really save some money.

I think that X-pel will keep the front end and exposed surfaces of your Fit looking new for years.

I know that quite a few rocks have pinged and bounced off my bumper and hood and there is no damage so far. Unfortunately my windshield is badly cracked and I'll have to replace it soon. ($675 and my deductible is $500)

for future reference about the windshield, check with your insurance agent to see if they offer windshield insurance. mine was only a couple of bucks extra per month(for a volvo s60) and the deductible is $25. first they send a guy out to try and repair it, and if the same crack recurr's they will replace it.
