Honda Fit Front Bra
Honda Fit Front Bra
I've been looking around for these, I couldn't find any thru the forums. I have only been seeing clear bra kits, but I'm trying to find a front bra (removeable, made of cloth/leather/etc..) so I can put it on and off after long highway trips. Anyone know where I can purchase one? Tried looking in Honda parts, but I didn't see any? Are they universal? Thanks for any help.
Rock chips are starting to annoy me

wow, thanks. I appreciate the help. That was exactly what I was looking for.
Does anyone own one of these? I want to be sure they are easy to remove and install every week. Thanks

I had the bra from collegehillshonda.com and it was pretty well shredded - so it must have prevented a lot of stone chips.
To fasten the bra, you remove a plastic clip and replace it with a screw-in snap.
This screw-in snap corrodes extremely easily - which wouldn't be a problem, except that you must remove it to change the bulbs for your headlights, front turn signals, and park lights.
It wasn't much fun trying to change a burned out headlight in a dark parking lot while it was snowing.
I've tried oil and grease on the threads - to no avail. It was still so difficult to get both sides off. So now I just leave the bra off and live with the stone chips - at least I can replace burned out headlight bulbs.
So if you do get the Honda Bra, use the best lubrication you know of when it is new - and lubricate the threads periodically - without fail. Or perhaps you could modify the bra to take a plastic clip instead.
The other disadvantage of the bra is that dirt gets under the bra and might scratch the paint when the bra is flopping around in the wind. One is instructed to remove the bra when washing the car - and then one has to wash and dry the bra also.
If I could do it all over again, I would use the clear bra such as Lamin_X.
As an aside, I have some Hella Driving lights with hard plastic protectors over the lights. And then I protected the protectors with a layer of the thickest Lamin_X. Two days ago, one of the lights was smashed into many pieces (probably by a pretty big rock) - but the protector was undamaged. I guess when your time is up, then your time is up. And just before that, a rock hit the windshield that left a hole the size of a quarter. It was pretty good ventilation. I covered the hole with shoe-goo until I can get windshield replaced in a day or 2.
