right now im going to have to say double sided tape. theres some hard core double sided tape at home depot thats just like the one that comes on the real mugen visors. ill have to see how good it feels when i stick it on there. i dont like the idea of drilling into my hatch just yet.

So I have conflicting answers! does the tail gate garnish fit the usdm Fit?? If so what material is it made of,Im not fond of fiberglass. Can we get it in urethane??
Any info would help!!

 

The real Mugen tailgate garnish does not fit the USDM bumpers.

There is a custom version out there that was designed for the USDM bumper, but I do not know who originally made it or how you can get a hold of one. There was one up on Ebay a while ago and someone here did win it but haven't seen them post about it as of yet.

If so.. I haven't put mine on yet (get the car on Monday), but it appears to be painted plastic (softish, it bends somewhat easily, no clue beyond that). Going to contact Zetaproducts though, one edge of mine seems to be chipped or somesuch, it is sort of speckled, if that makes sense.

Edit: Should have read the product description, would have given me the answer. "Made from durable ABS plastic that has been coated with a high-gloss chrome finish"

Ok soo King Motorsports finally E-mailed me back and said it would fit??? Hope he is right if not thats gonna suck!

 

the real one only fits the jap bumper . the one on that gray fit in the pics above is a fake one made for the u.s bumper. but it looks like crap in my opinion it looks way to BIG!!!

 

I hope you didn't order one, unless you're planing on changing your rear bumper!

 

So I guess what it really comes down to is that King Motorsports is right! It will fit my car?Guess we really wont know till someone trys and I dont want one if it is made of crappy fiberglass,Ill just wait till one is made of urethane one day!!

 

The Mugen garnish will fit the USDM bumper but it will look like crap (see pics on first page).

My Fit has a replica. It comes with the Seibon widebody kit. I dont think they piece out the kit though?
Fitment isnt great on mine. (whole kit fit horribly) Its nice and flush when the trunk is closed and the area that meets the bumper but its not against the tailgate. Looks great in pics but in person you can see a gap. SSHHH!! Dont tell anyone.

Im going to sand/shave it down so it will be. It needs to be repainted anyway.
