My name is Doug and live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
I just bought my Fit last week, October 16th. My first new car!
I have been lurking on this site for about 6 years. My now Ex girlfriend just bought a 2013 sport when we started dating and I became intrigued with the car. After getting to sometimes drive it around for the past 6 years I feel in love with the car.
My DD subaru legacy started leaking from the head gasket and figured it was time for a new car. Traded it in ($600 yeah!) on a new 2019 Ex. So far really like the car. Some minor issues but am doing some searching on FF to find answers and what to tweak!
Thanks for a wonderful forum and all the info about these great cars.
Doug
Below are some pics. Love the color! Got a chance to wax it last night before it got to cold, garage is not heated
The day I brought it home In the garage getting it's first wax!
I have been looking into roof racks The bottom kayak I just finished this year. It's a pygmy Borealis XL. It's 17' long so it should look good on the Fit.
The lift does come in handy. Haven't put the Fit on it yet, but will just to poke around and see what the underside looks like.
I'll have to look into the Mr. Buddy heaters. With the high ceiling it's hard to keep the heat down low
Looking forward to learning more about these fun little cars.
Welcome. Congrats on the GK! And also envious of the lift.
Here is mine with a cheapo Costco 10 ft bathtub on top for reference. I am using a full Yakima roof rack with the Jay-Low single/dual kayak carrier. This picture was when I just literally bought it. I knew ahead of time that I would be getting a roof rack specifically for a kayak. I vinyl wrapped my roof and am glad that I did. It makes waxing the car easier, but more importantly, the sand and stones that fall off the kayak as I'm driving is less likely to damage the paint. Be warned, the sheet metal on the roof and sides are very, very thin and I have the roof dimples to prove it.

I used a Yakima rack on my Subaru and haven't seen if it fits the Fit
I bet it will interesting with a 17' kayak on the top
Thanks for the info on the roof. Something I'm going to have to watch out for!
