Hello from Texas!
Hi Y'all!
I'm excited to join y'all in the FitFreak forum. I bought a 2020 Fit EX-L today for my senior dog. I have two dogs, who both love to ride in the car, but my senior lab mix has worsening joint issues and has recently had problems getting into our last car, a small crossover. After searching through dealerships using a measuring tape to find the car with the right combination of ride height and door opening width, I concluded that the Honda Fit would be perfect for my buddy. The big guy went with me to check out the car this afternoon and LOVED it. He hopped right in and refused to get out 3 times so now I have a Fit! I had a MINI for a long time and actively participated in NAM as well as my local MINI forums in Boston and DFW. I'm hoping to have my Fit for a very long time and I'm happy to be part of an active forum again.
I have a couple of mods/accessories already planned for my Fit (auto-dimming mirror w/Homelink, cargo cover, center armrest, and remote engine starter) but are there others that y'all recommend?

Dude welcome! That’s an awesome reason to have picked up a Fit! I hope you guys have any fun and comfy miles ahead.
As for mods, there’s a bunch in the generation specific thread, but one I would recommend right here is a good quality window tint with very high thermal rejection! Our little fish bowls love to green house it up and I’m assuming the Texas sun is a tad bit hotter than what we get here in Canada. I’m sure your pups will also appreciate the reduction in temperature as well!

Thanks! The previous owner installed Llumar film so I'm set on tint. I completely agree. High quality tint can make a huge difference in temperature. My parents even had tint installed on the west facing windows of their house. It made a huge difference.
Ok, mod's so far:
Compustar remote start with Drone Mobile
Llumar tint on windshield
Cargo cover
CarCoverUSA sunscreen (I loathe the shiny ones - they get super hot and feel like they will burn your fingers when you take them down in the Texas summers)
Foam to fill in footwells to create a relatively flat floor for my dog's bed to lay on top of
Previous owner installed Llumar tint on all windows (except windshield) and sunroof, Digishield side mirror cap protection and door edge guards, two sets of mats (why 2? no clue), and mud flaps.
I'm probably done with mods for now but I may add a clear bra and more protective film to the door sills later on.

Haha, I need to do that! I've taken them for a few car rides separately but I haven't gotten a picture of both of them in the Fit yet. Since it's their car, that's a definite oversight
.
Oh my gosh. I can't wait to replace the tires. I had Michelin Defenders on my last car and loved them. I am not a fan of the stock tires but I'll live with them for now. I doubt that I'll go the full mod route but I'll get back to you on that
I'm following the mod thread and some of those Fits are wicked. Major props on all of the customization.
