Smile Hello from Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Howdy folks! I've owned a 2007 MT Fit for about a year now. I was drawn to it for the combination of cargo space and fuel economy. I've done a few DIY repairs and modifications already, and I have more planned that I would like to share, mostly around increasing net cargo capacity, increasing fuel economy, and keeping costs down.

The frame was rusted out on the rear drivers side behind the suspension mount. I welded in replacement metal. Also replaced the rear bumper reinforcement and the front suspension dampers. The rust has not been kind to this car, so there was a lot of drilling and cutting, and a little fabrication and fastener replacement. I'm currently working on weight reduction.

At least Pittsburgh has some nice twisty roads to enjoy driving your Fit on.

Lol. Fair enough. Years ago, I thought about moving over there. Maybe when I retire.

Hi! I'm just seeing your post for the first time today (7/15/2023) and wanted to say hello. I also live in Pittsburgh (Robinson area) and own a 2008 Fit Sport AT. I'd love to meet fellow Fit enthusiasts and share knowledge. Feel free to reach out if you like.
