Picked up an 08 black 5mt for $3k a few months ago, it was a steal
I already love this thing! Got some konig hypergrams, progress RSB, and other small mods.
A buddy of mine gave me swift springs, but considering coilovers. If i stick with these swift springs, I could get some new KYB's
what is the consensus of Coils vs swift springs around here?
Also, any recs on roof racks? I'm in the market for one as this car is my daily driver, and would love to be able to throw stuff on top if needed as well.

Coilovers will allow for ride height adjustment. Is this something you care to have? If the answer is no, then stick with the springs. If the answer is yes, go for the coilovers. Thule and Yakima seem to be popular brands for roof racks. I have no personal experience with them, but maybe look into those brands or wait for others to chime in.
Congratulations on the Fit!
Congratulations on the Fit!
Springs are fine. Coilovers are fine. Both have their place depending on the person. I had my car at stock height for six years, lowering springs for three years, and I just ordered coilovers for it. My gf bought a car that we can use for most things, so my car being dumb and low feels like the moral thing to do. Without that, the spring height was nice.
Full disclosure: car above is a GE8 with Swift springs and Koni Orange. I previously had a GD3 on Tein S Tech, I just genuinely don’t remember how that car rode, it’s been nine years haha
I recommend a hitch mount storage solution rather than a roof rack. Roof racks eat fuel efficiency for fun and stink to load.

My opinion of springs and roof rack are rooted in the same idea. The car is an "econo-box". Trying to make it more *something* is a waste in my opinion. It's not going to be sporty especially as the rear axle is just a straight bar with hubs on either end. Cornering will always be limited. Also, because its a Fit and because the rear seats actually lay flat when folded, I have not had a need for a roof rack. Roof racks just take away from aerodynamics which goes against the econo part of the econo-box idea.
It's more of an economic utility type vehicle for folks who don't work construction sites. Making it more than that reduces it in my opinion. Your opinion matters too so do what you like and I hope that you're happy with it. I don't intend to spoil your joy. I really like what it is and have been saddened that they are not sold in the US anymore.

Congrats on your new ride!
I had Swift springs with stock springs on my 09 Sport. I liked how the 1" drop looked and handled, but it wasn't that big a deal. I plan to stay with stock on my 10 Sport.
I also used a Thule roof rack on my 09. Worked fine, but made noise and was a pain to load the bike. Now I use a hitch from eTrailer and a Thule Helium 2-bike rack. Super lightweight and easy for my wife to use on her Subaru, too. The Helium can fit a 1.5" and a 2" hitch with its adapter and has a built in locking cable for theft deterrence.
