Intro thread
Greets,
I've used this forum previously, and seemed to previously have a saved password, but I couldn't log in and "forgot my password" didn't work with any of my emails. Maybe I erroneously saved an incorrect login, maybe I simply lurked, or perhaps my inactive account was deleted.
Making this post in an effort to follow guidelines. You've got a great community here and it's helped me greatly in the past.
I'm eager to repair things (cheap under the guise of green), although I don't have a great track record so the knowledge of your members is invaluable.
This thread isn't a request for help (I still need to peruse old threads via the search function), but just for the sake of a thorough introduction, my biggest issue with my 2014 Fit right now is a failing volume knob on my stereo. I'd like to disassemble it and clean the contacts while I price/spec out a more permanent solution in the form of a new aftermarket stereo unit.
Deep on the backburner, I need to replace both rear power window motors (disassembled one door panel and saw 12V coming out of the harness with my multimeter, probably no luck that it's simply stuck and not burnt out)
Also, the rear hatch handle has been rusty garbage for years now, too rusty to spring back to resting position. Developed a habit to manually close the handle before locking up.

Hello! Jack from Colorado. My daughter's 2019 Fit Lx (Helios Yellow) got totaled by Allstate due to hail damage. The damage was very minor but extensive covering almost every body panel. She can't afford the risk of driving a car without Collision and Comp so she bought herself a used 2022 HRV. Her mom and I could not stand to see such an efficient and reliable car get dumped for salvage so we bought it from her. I couldn't care less about the minor dimples all over the car. My initial thoughts for upgrades are fog lights, better headlights and a 1.25" receiver for a bike rack. Any input would be appreciated!
