It's a Fit for me
It's a Fit for me
So after 40 years of driving Volkswagens and whatever cars my partners owned (only one of those was a Honda), I'm the new owner of a Modern Steel Metallic 2017 LX 6sp. Just took delivery this morning and still getting used to things. Like using the gas pump (been driving diesels for 25 years). Like not seeing any part of the hood while driving. Like that sweet Honda gearchange. 87K miles and owned by someone who traded it for an electric vehicle.
I'm not planning any serious mods at this point except for winter tires, which I will get tomorrow. I live in Minnesota and while they plow the roads a lot here, many times that ends up packing the snow into an icy mass or the salty slush refreezes overnight. So winter tires are as appropriate here as winter boots. Beyond that, I'm looking forward to a quieter, less involved ownership experience than I had with the VWs.
Personally, my wife and I are retired and grandparents to several (who will increasingly appreciate the room in back). We stay busy with grandchildren, other people we kind of take care of, and folk dancing.
See ya around this site!
