Wow!

So when the light turned green i punched and so did he and i was neck and neck with him untill about 30MPH and then he was gone.

I was pretty impressed by the Fits power knowing that it only had 1 more HP then my Echo. I CANT WAIT till i get my Fit, hopefully this weekend if it works out!

Just don't let any amount of power get to your head. Don't hurt or kill yourself with the thing trying to race.

Rofl well this thread just made me feel like a dinosaur. I'm an old fart, and I just got my Fit. My first car was a family hand me down, a mighty Pontiac J2000 station wagon that overheated like crazy. Ah well driving my Fit maybe people will THINK I am young hehe.

The best part is when he said we were neck and neck till we hit ...30mph!

I guess in the subcompact world 30 is pushing high speed.

From 30 to 60 he never left 3rd gear and was most likely in a MT while you probably changed gears or have an AT. Also for all you know he may have been running NOS.

It is a crazy thing. When I first started looking at the Fit in February - a call to the local Honda dealership brought questions from the sales man. How did I know about the Fit? What was I planning to do with the car? I thought this guy is really nosey- but then he said well kids are buying this car and moding it out to street race. I laughed and said no - I was 51 years old and it would be my daily ride to and from work. The only place I race is on PS2 - Need For Speed - fan. Anyway, I got the Fit because I've only driven a truck or a wagon due to owning a horse for 21 years. I decide it was time to have some fun and the Fit had that written all over it. Just know that the streets are no place to put it down on - go to a track if you can and put it down in a controlled environment. The Fit has alot of pep and zip for a small car but my focus is on the fact that it is a great car to own and it makes me smile every time I get behind the wheel. Ok - I did put on a Spoon Sticker just for fun! Keeps them guessing!

i agree with the above posts, if you want to race, be legal...its not worth the risks involved.

...when i was 16 i had a slight insident with a electrical pole jumping out in front of me ....... while i was pushing 100mph in my 94 teg.

Great to hear everyone on this forum is supporting safe racing in a controlled environment! I can't stress how dangerous it is to yourself and others when you street race! As much as I've modded my car, I still drive the speed limit and take it easy around the city, you never know what might be lurking around the corner! Being I'm only 21, any ticket will cause my insurance to swell, so that's another incentive for you younger drivers out there!

On another note, ROFL Fit vs. Yaris, musta been a slow ass race hahaha! I can easily pull 100km/h (~60mph) in 2nd gear to redline before I need to shift...has quite a kick when VTEC kicks in...sounds cool too! And no, I wasn't racing, I was accelerating up to speed, I don't think there is a law as to how fast you are allowed to accelerate to the posted speed limit is there? Other than stunting, I can't think of any charge they can give you...even then that can only be applied off the line and if your wheels chirp or squeal!

Hey Illusive... Can you really hold 100km/h in 2nd gear? I don't think I am able to.. closest I can get is like 90 if I can remember... and thats bangin off the rev limiter.

Really? I swear I saw 100km/h on the speedo Saturday when I pinned it heading down on Deerfoot...I let it get up to 6500RPMs before I shifted, looked down, and was already going speed...mb it's my eyes :s
