i still don’t get why gafit brings up subaru’s in this discussion. if the RS was as good as my STI, don’t u folks think i would already have one in my line up?

my thoughts exactly...none on radar. RS was kinda close but after making my decision not to get one due to its engine problems they still can’t seem to fix, haven’t really looked back especially after hearing they were canning it after 2018 model year. wasnt expecting them canning all other cars though! very bold, very american truck guy like.

Everything in the world points to a small batch getting the wrong head gasket. Keep in mind that motor is used in tons of other Fords and no others have had this problem. The RS had a unique head gasket, but some got the universal head gasket which caused the problems.
Here's a good article on the subject.

I've been looking at refurbished/used MBP's or MBA's for the GF. Something like a 13". She uses it for word processing, photoshop, document creating, internet, email...some limited photo editting. Shes a realtor so nothing too strenuous.
I like the new space gray of the MBP's. But she doesnt need a dedicated GPU lol.

wheew, finally home so tired fried chicken for supper woot.
i hear it might actually t-storm tomorrow which is very welcome news! well, as long as there is no hail. i need the road salt washed away so that i can wash the GTI's engine bay and undercarriage.
this weekend will start with an oil change on my R, followed by hopefully washing the GTI's engine bay and undercarriage, followed by oil change on the GTI, followed by steak for lunch with wife.

no wonder more gray hair.. time goes by too fast.
so we got a lunch party at the office today should be fun. besides finishing one task, going to take it real easy today. have a good weekend!

Yes from what I understand the block is an open deck design. Truth was they used the wrong head gasket, it was the one meant for the Mustang 2.3, close but no cigar. Once they figured it out supposedly all is well. The RS is quite the car. Although I really don't care for the interior, especially the dash.

im still not convinced they fixed all the 2017's lined up at the dealership (new)..
yah, you dont buy these RS's for the interior so it's okay by me... dont want to buy a broken car knowingly though. i just dont have time to be babysitting someone's mistakes with my busy schedule. and its not like my wife can drive MT to the dealership on my behalf.

there is a dealer nearby that has an RS with the multi spoke design which i like. not a fan of those cheezy spider looking black double 5 spoke wheels that most of them come in. price is the same as the DSG-R.
