10/10 for what I bought it for, 9/10 for the overall. I was looking for a simple little A-B economy car for commuting and frequent long distance driving. It works great for that, but goes considerably beyond. I found that beyond the low price tag and good gas mileage, it is also a sporty little car with quite a bit of pep and a ton of storage space. I love the looks, and while it is definately not a luxury car, it has enough features to keep you comfortable. I would highly recomend it to anyone looking for an everyday commuter car.
At this point i'd give it a 7. My MPG isn't so great, but i'm still in the break-in period. I'm hoping that it gets better(currently at 500 miles). I'll probably give it a 8.5 once my MPG goes up. I'm pretty satisfied with the rest of the car other than the somewhat bad acceleration(when driving uphill), and how the car can be a bit noisy.
I wouldn't rate by number, as they just don't make much sense to me. I would say it could be made better, but I think it is the best option out there for what it does. I would like to see the gas mileage improved even more - the Fit seems like it would work well with a hybrid design, though that may not be possible while retaining the great interior space, and the space was one of the two big reasons I chose it over the Prius (the other was the way the Prius steering wheel hit my legs whenever I got in/out, unless I used the tilt every time, and I just don't want to have to tilt my steering wheel every time I want to use my car). The handling has a great feel, giving plenty of feedback yet being quite comfortable for long distance trips. I considered the Sport trim a necessity for the cruise control. Without cruise control, I would be a lot less happy with it for long distance because of calf strain holding my foot on the gas (I feel this way about any upright-seating car - the only one I was really happy in without cruise was an original RX-7, which has you sitting practically on the floorboard, i.e., laying down, which makes the foot position a lot more comfortable). I am fairly tall at 6'2" so that is a factor, and the Fit has plenty of room for me - it doesn't feel too small at all. And, I am just more comfortable in a small car. I have driven several luxury cars, including substantial mileage in a BMW 740i, and I am the most satisfied with city driving in the Fit as I have ever been. I am also happy that my insurance is lower, even though this car is a replacement for a totaled one (thank you USAA) and I feel good about the gas mileage for sure (I get better than 37 in the city, and 40+ highway). I am not one to "fall in love" with a car - I am a scientist, after all - but I think it is a very well made car and a recommendable choice.
