Does anybody have pics of the backseat in the GD3? It looks like when the rear seats are down (in the normal seating position) there is open space beneath them. Is this true? Does anybody have pics?

I'm curious to see if it is possible to stow junk (amplifier...sub...who knows ) under there?

Yes it is true, you can use the under space to stow your sports bag, tennis racket, golf clubs, fishing rods, lots of things.

There's a good amont of space under the seat. The only catch is, as soon as you fold the magic seat down, you will need every inch of the space under it. I had the same idea about putting amps there, but I do use the Jazz for loading as well. The magic seat is a very well designed for multi-purpose use, but since I have aftermarket leather seats, it requires a "push" to fold the seats down flat, unlike the stock cloth seats, it just falls into place flat.
