Cruise control for 09 Fit (base model)

You can probably tell we are new to the FIT. We bought an 09 base model and on the way home found out it doesn't have cruise control. We would have bought a Sport if we had known the base model didn't have cruise. Trying to save $2000. Stupid us!!!! The dealer doesn't have one; the aftermarket one I found doesn't fit the 09. Does anyone make a cruise to put on the 09???

I don't think anyone makes one yet. There's one for the first generation Fit so I'm sure eventually they'll make one for the newer model.

Don't mean to rub it in but that's one of the things you really should know *before* you drive the car off the lot.

Damn, that sucks. Definitely should have looked into that a little more before driving it away! That's the main reason I went with the Sport instead of the base model.

Same here. I would have greatly preferred to not have the spoiler and body kit, but the cruise was a must.

Ditto, sort of. I'm certainly looking to go for the Base Fit... and cruise control isn't really a big deal on my list. I never use it in my current vehicle, but my parents used to swear by it. (Maybe having it conveniently on the steering wheel might change my mind.)

I'm just curious one thing... since it's not even listed as an option on the base fit... is there any LEGITIMATE (technical) reason why one could not install the same cruise control that is on the sport model, on the base fit? I mean apart from the fact that Honda probably just wants us to spend more money on a more expensive model, that is..

09 cruise control

We are very happy with our new FIt (44 MPG first tank of gas). The cruise controls that work on the 07 & 08 Fits don't work on the 09 (according to the manufacturer). The dealer says they don't have an after market cruise for the 09. I'm just asking people that are more familiar with thr FIT.

Thanks
