Fit is on the go
Fit is on the go
Hey there Fit Freaks,
I'm in my mid twenties and have lived in a few places around the world. I just moved back to the United States from South Africa. I needed a cheap, reliable, yet fun and practical car to drive so I decided on the Fit. I'm going to be sharing this car with my folks so coming to this decision wasn't completely mine. My dad was seriously interested in a hybrid (Prius) but I wouldnt be caught dead in one of those things. Thank god for the Honda Fit. As of today we're waiting for our Fit to arrive at the dealer. If everything goes well there should be a spankin' new '10 Sport MT SSM for me to drive in a few days. We're still deciding on the extras though. We've settled on the Cargo Lid Cover as it is almost essential when you are carrying things in the back. We're just not decided on the window visors and the rubber side moulding. What options are essential? Which ones would you get?
I've calculated internet prices for many of the options and they seem more or less the same. Anyway thanks for anyone who posts!

goodluck with your new car!
the name 'Fit' is pretty accurate. it fits in most places, you can fit everything you want in it, i fits in your wallet, it fits in most normal folk's lifestyles.

Thanks for the replies,
quick question on the window visors and i guess the OEM armrest. Are the visors see-through and/or do they cut visibility at all? Does the OEM armrest you are talking about Btrthnezr3, mean the small one or the one that can store cargo. In the options list at the dealer it said that the bigger one wasn't available for M/Ts. My guess was that it cut into space for your arm to shift. If anyone knows about that I'd be interested.

So we finally got the SSM Fit MT last Friday (April 30). We were able to hook up the 0.9% financing deal. I will post the exact details on the "how much did you pay for your fit" post on another day. Anyway, we picked up the car at about 9:00 P.M. and the service department was closed so we didn't get any options at that point. So far so good. The dealer included the OEM wheel locks as the only 'free' option. Cool Bonus. This Saturday my dad and I went to the dealership and picked up carpet floor mats and the cargo cover. After only 1 week of use I already needed to vacuum the footwells before doing the floor mat install. Everything is in and it is looking great! We put down payment at the dealership for the door visors, rubber door bumper guards, and rear bumper appliqué. Those should be arriving next week. I will take some pictures of the car as is before it gets all 'done up'. I am going to wash it before taking it to the dealer so that the adhesives stick properly. I don't really trust them to do it even though I was assured they would. I'm just glad to be driving the Fit. After the first fill up the two of us are averaging 31.1 mpg (calculated) with mixed driving. I will start posting this info in Eco Fit threads as soon as i get a couple more averages. Instead of the Fit is Go tagline they should just go for the alliterative Fit is Fun.
