Just purchased my 2013 VBP Sport about 2 months ago and .... I LOVE IT!! Used to be a VW guy and now I'm somewhat on the fun but gets 35+ mpg wagon. Only mod done to it at this point is yellow fog bulbs. Plans include suspension, wheels/tires, exhaust, all weather mats, & a roof rack for kayaking. I love that I can fit my whole family in the car without an issue (wife & 2 kids). Also, seeing 36.6 average mpg after 2500 miles is nice too! I'm definitely sold on it for sure. I feel as if I'll never let this car go
Welcome to the forum, got my Fit last year I enjoy driving it. I did the racks for Kayaking last too. There is a lot of information on the mods you are planning on the forum. When you get a chance post some pictures.
Find my picture album and do the intake mod I did. Less then $30 I believe. Sounds good, and netted me some response.
Inflate the tires to 36psi or so. Minor gas mileage improvement, lil less road noise.
The factory Dunlops leave a LOT to be desired for a factory tire. Honda dropped the ball big time

@cjecpa - what rack system did you go with? I've been leaning toward a Yakima system
@13Fit - Did you have any issues with the TPMS bumping up to 36psi? I just don't want to see that annoying dash light come on
I'll check that intake modification out. I thought about going with an upgraded original style air filter but then thought better of it. I'm looking for upgrades to maintain or improve gas mileage so I'm hoping lighter wheels, lowering it a bit by reducing air underneath the vehicle, and an exhaust that helps the engine breathe a little easier helps it out somewhat. I've been on ecomodder.com lately as well

I really didnt see much of a MPG increase from the intake ITSELF however the car now is audio friendly as in "lets me know when its struggling" (under load)
I get great mpg, I average 30mpg with most of my tanks 70% city driving and hours a week in idling (waiting for formations [military])
The response helped me quite a bit at the dragstrip. My intake mod however draws air that has passed through the radiator. It doesnt make a difference to me in theory, the throttlebody is the same temperature as coolant due to its idle valve, and the intake runners are heated pretty bad because the base runners are directly in front of radiator, and the plenum is right over the motor exhaust side.
If you wanted more out of the intake, coat the metal runners with a thermal coating, and put a sheet of something that blocks heat between the plenum (black plastic chamber) and motor. just make sure its secure and doesnt have edges to hurt wiring
