New Owner 2008 Fit Sport. couple of questions
Love the forum. it helped me make my decision to buy a used 2008 Fit Sport..
Getting many compliments on this car so far.. I brought it back to the dealer the day after I bought it because of a bad ride, and they replaced the front tires now.. its a nice ride
I've been following some common issues. and wonder if there are some suggestions solutions..
1) my center emblem on the steering wheel is wearing away the chrome paint. I'm not crazy about the red placement. I do like the dude who did the black matte DIY logo.. wondering if theres an aftermarket black matte logo insted of the DIY route
2) my carpeting is frayed directly below the front of the driver seat, far enough so the FIT factory rubbers mats don't quite cover it.. is there a recommended fix on the carpet (other than replace) or a recommended mat that can at least cover this frayed area?
3) I like the rear bumper applique idea, but the main one other there looks like a black sticker.. is there one available that's a bit more substantial than that..
thanks! Great Forum!

not sure about #1, but for #2, if on a budget, go to an art store (michael's johann's) and buy a sheet of black hard felt, and hot glue it to the floor. chances are, that alone will look pretty good.
#3 home depot has those rough slip proof sheets for stair cases. those might work? not sure. im planning on getting the honda applique for my '12 if i get another scratch on my bumper.
hahaha

thanks for the tip. the black heavy felt and glue idea sounds like a plan.. either way, budget is not an issue. and with that being said, those WeatherTech Digi Fits are looking pretty sweet. not only that, they look like the would cover the patched area..
wish there was an applique for the back bumper available that looked more like a step with ridges.. not sure if there's enough clearance for a design like that though with the back lift pretty tight

There use to be a metal "FiT" logo plate for the rear bumper that is for the GD3, that matched the door sill plates.
Welcome to FF's and if there is any info you need for your car your in the right place.

can anyone suggestion some standard exterior or interior upgrades for an 08 Fit Sport besides floor mats?

serious carpet wear at edge of All Season Mat.. driver side.. didn't spot until brought it home and pulled the mat back

Very disappointing. I know it wasn't the previous driver's abuse, cause the rest of the interior is cherry.. Would a WeatherTech Digi Fit cover this up?
I fashioned a patch from some craft store felt and fabric adhesive, and am letting it set tonight before I post pix.. just purchased the Zeta Products dead pedal. seems like a must..

is that on the center console side?
i would cut off the pulled up area and just use the black hard felt i mentioned.
in fact, my 09 is kinda like that on the console side since my wife's boot seems to rub that area while driving. on my GE, i took off the one tab that holds the console trim on the driver side, and stuck the hard felt under the plastic, then the other end i duct taped it onto the floor. i pierced a hole through the hardfelt and placed the factory plastic tab back into the console so that there is no movement.
then, placed factory a/s floor mat over the felt, and walla. looks great again.

No, it would be the other side, closest to door. where your left heel might rest..
I tried to patch with a felt fabric square and some adhesive..
Maybe if I can find some hooks somewhere to latch the all season OEM mats and pull them further up, or better yet, some mats like Weathertechs to completely cover the patch, it might not be too noticeable.
