Hi everyone!

Hey guys!

I have a 2007 Honda Fit Sport (actually my girlfriend owns it, but she isn't much into the forum thing). Love the car. It still impresses me how much I can fit into this car and the handling is pretty impressive.

I do have an issue though; for the last couple of years the car has had really bad gas mileage; for us Canadians that means that we are averaging 11L/100kms in the city and around 8L/100kms on the highway, which is kind of crazy for a car like this. The car is at 50,000kms (pretty low) and unfortunately most of its life it has done mostly short distance driving.

So far we have tried the following:
- checked tire pressures; current set to 30 psi
- changed air filter to K&N drop in
- changed oil to 5W20 Castrol Edge and perform engine oil changes every 3-4 months
- Did an engine oil flush (3x)
- Automatic tranny flush
- checked the brakes to make sure they are not dragging (they are not). This involves both the front pads and the drums to make sure they are working properly
- no diagnostic messages coming from the car (so our local honda dealer has no idea what to do)

Any ideas? My girlfriend seems ok since she drives short distances but this kind of stuff bugs me.

In other news, I also review cars on the side, and this is one I have done recently on the Honda Fit. Hope you find it in your heart not to be overly harsh haha!

Nice to meet you all!
