I'm an old timer that's always got one foot in a Nissan B13 SE-R. I've turbocharged one, swapped in an SR20VE in another, driven a few lightly modified and raced in autocross, driven HPDEs and currently(-ish) run in rallycross.
For DDs, I usually buy Honda, and have had an EP3 as well as an RSX-S.
I bought the Fit for something with decent resale value, great fit and finish with high miles and affordable enough for a cash price.
Now for some pics...
Here's when I first got it:
First put in a stereo:
Then put on some 16x7 Sparco Terras with Bridgestone Potenzas:
Next after debating Swift vs. Progress, saw the Progress in their "garage sale" for cheap:
(I'm over 40 with a family, and the ride is one of the best I've had with lowering springs)
Next, did my own DIY intake (more for the sound than any expectation of powah):
and finally replace the condesation-stained headlights with black housing aftermarket Depos:
a few more pics:
And for real finally, I had to top it off with my favorite weighted shift knob of all time, the Razo!:
Anywho, I plan to add to the lowering springs thread with a more detailed experience, as well as a before/after pic.
looking good,I especially like the black housing lights.
are weighted shift knobs worth the extra $20?
As the new owner of a 09 blue fit man myself, do you mind me asking how many miles it has and what you paid?
It's not so much just the weighted-ness, but the ergonomic-feeling shape and the quality of the leather are totally worth it, to me. The Fit's gearbox is nice, but notchy, and I think due to the notchiness, the benefit of the weight is less noticeable. Almost makes me want to upgrade to a hi-po trans fluid..
I got it with 120k miles for $4k, private party. All dealerships around me wanted around 6k for more miles. And this car was in MUCH nicer shape than any other I looked at. The previous owner took real good care of it.
