Long time Fit fan finally got one!
EDIT. Total change of plans. Bought a 2010 GE8. See post below!
Very excited to make this post!!!
I've been a huge fan of the Honda Fit since they came to the USA. I always point them out to my wife, and it's gotten to the point where she can tell which generation each Fit is, and sends me pics of cool ones she sees on the road haha!! ("Check out this TW GE I saw!").
Anyhow, I currently drive a Jeep Wrangler, 6 speed, soft top... which I really enjoy, but it's terrible for my long commute to work. I'll be keeping it for a fun weekend car. I needed an "airport car" to drive for my 2.5 hour commute, so of course it would have to be a Fit. I drove a few used ones, including a 2013 Sport which was great, but all very expensive for the age. Fits hold value so well!! Then I saw the 2018 would come with Honda Sensing, and I was sold.
I test drove a 2018 EX, and sat in an EX-L. I decided on the EX, negotiated a deal, and put down a deposit on an Aegean Blue EX which is still in transit to the dealer. I'm like a (33 year old) kid on Christmas!!! Can't wait to finally get my Fit! I'll post pics when she arrives!

Well, total change of plans. I cancelled the deal on my 2018. I was having second thoughts about taking on another car payment. I absolutely hate debt. So, I found a great deal on a well maintained 2010 GE8 which I could pay cash for. And now she’s mine! I drove it home 90 minutes on the highway and I absolutely love it, no regrets. Also, I was achieving 37 mpg without even trying. And when I got home I realized my tires were under inflated (30psi) so I took them up to 38 psi which should improve mpg even more.

PICS!!! Here we go. She’s in great shape, a few scratches. 106k miles. Lots of rock chips on the front bumper, but I’m not too concerned since she will be my commuter car anyhow!

Thanks GAFIT! I’ve had many Honda’s over the years, haven’t been disappointed yet. Hoping to get well over 200k miles.

Edit- already ordered a LED interior light kit, but that’s barely a mod haha.

and much brighter and nicer looking too. haha

Definitely! I ordered them because I was vacuuming the car out yesterday and I noticed that the dome light seems to stay lit indefinitely while the door is open. I finally turned it off manually. The LED’s low power draw will eliminate most of that battery draw. First mod!

It's a great incarnation of The Fit IMO.
I always keep my tires inflated to the recommended PSI on the door jam. I'm not convinced "more" is better.
My MPG is good just keeping the PSI at recommendation. And the ride is less harsh.

there are many things i liked better on my '12 MT GE than my wife's '16 GK.. especially the fit and finish. GK is a 12-foot car at best. has terrible fit and finish. on the otherhand, my GTI is also mexican made.. it is a 3-foot car.
as for inflating tires.. stock psi is aimed more for comfort so i usually run a tad higher to compensate for temperature changes. most tires loose about 1psi per month (normal) and especially during this time of year when temps are falling, best to use a higher psi to anticipate pressure loss.
higher psi as in i put 38psi this am in anticipation for 20F temp drop in the coming 4 weeks. 1psi change per 10F ambient temp change + 1psi loss so im guessing i will be at 35psi cold in mid/late November, even if temps drop 30F i have a 2 psi of pad to factory.. but by that time the GK will run snow tires probably.
it is better to run a tad over inflated vs under inflated. when under inflated it causes a lot of stress on the sidewalls of the tires which can cause it to heat up and tear worst case.
