I've been a stalker here since buying my used 2015 Fit EX 6MT last June. I daily drive it and take it on adventures. (I've only lost the skid plate on forest trails twice.) I hate the transmission gearing though, but the rest of the car makes up for it pretty well I think. Someday I plan to do a few subtle mods, maybe some black wheels and tint. (Anyone know of a lift kit? Haha...) Today I am finally signed up to contribute a few posts and pictures on various topics, including disassembly of the dash to remove the instrument cluster since I couldn't find a good clear and concise write-up on the subject. Below will be a picture of my car. It's usually dirty on the outside and looks just like all the other OEM factory Fits out there. Nothing new, I suppose. Anyway, I look forward to learning more about my car, as I do most times I visit these forums, and I appreciate all those who take the time to write up info and answer questions here.
Welcome to the wolf pack. So why'd you disassemble the dash to get to the cluster?
That's be because when I bought the car it had some sort of, and I have no Earthly idea how, residue on the little screen in the right side of the cluster. It was behind the clear plastic like maybe some kind of drink exploded or violently splashed all over the driver's controls and leaked in? I had four cans of coke burst from the heat in the back of the car last July, though they didn't seem to go as violently as this would have to have been. It's quite puzzling!

To clean this:
I have no clue how that got in there, it was there when I bought the car. Maybe a soft drink can exploded in the heat? I had four burst last July, though they were in the back of the car.
