Greetings fellow Fit owners. I just recently rejoined the Honda family and purchased a 2015 Fit LX and couldn't be happier. I used to have a 1st gen Fit back in the day but lost it and had to move on to another car that was automatic.

I still remembered fondly the wonderful ride and excellent gas mileage from that car and the smooth transmission that was so easy to use it felt automatic so I constantly kept my eyes open for a deal I just couldn't pass up to pick up another and it happened.

During to the time on the automatic, I figured I'd have to readjust and relearn the stick for the 2015 I bought. It was like riding a bike and it wasn't that hard getting back in but for the life of me, I feel like a rookie again whenever I'm trying to find reverse.

I never drove a 6 speed transmission before and just expected an extra gear change but the technique for that reverse is still a mystery for me. I've been reduced to changing through 3-6 to luckily push it out far enough to locate reverse.

Am I being silly and will just relearn it over time or am I missing something simple? Any comments would be appreciated.

you really have to push the stick over to get it to drop into reverse. Took me a bit of adjustment as well, being used to 5-sp manuals.

as Alfa38 says, push that thing over with some conviction

Be glad, we dont have the stupid "lock out ring" as some cars do (like a subaru sti), where you have to lift a stupid ring just to shift into R

i like that lock out ring. not stupid at all.
