Red 2007 Fit Sport since new
Not sure why I didn't sign up here sooner, but hello to any and all from a longtime lurker. The local Honda dealer had a red manual show up unassigned and unexpected, on the same day I'd called to see if they had any for a drive, in June of 2008. My wife and I drove to Augusta and picked it up that day. We drove it home from the church when we got married in July that year. My wife has been the primary driver, and the car stands at 59k miles. We've had it as the city car, the pizza take out and all purpose errand vehicle. Lately I got a roof rack, and it has carried a pair of kayaks to the lakes. I have three sets of friends with Fits. They've all got north of 150k miles on theirs. I've had offers for mine, but there are no plans to sell.
It isn't perfect. It's had two annoying rounds of water sealing, and some paint fade on the metallic surfaces. There are three shades of red at the moment, so the car is a "10 footer." The clutch or motor mounts give a judder if I don't get the revs right on launch, but that is manageable with proper rpm at takeoff. I've been pulled over for squealing tires around a turn, but I was not ticketed. It's been cheap to run, and to insure, and good fun. Much more fun than my 1981 Honda Accord LX Hatchback of yore, and handier than the 1986 Integra 5 door hatch with the pop up headlights. I liked that Acura motor better than the Fit's 1.5. The Fit reminds me of those first two Hondas of mine. You could drive them hard, and then be fine with oil changes and brake pads.
Now that my kids are out of college, I have begun to buy it some presents. Set of Sport Tuning T5 15x6.5 with Michelin Ice snow tires. Pioneer double din receiver with scosche dash mount. Infinity speakers. Progress rear sway bar. So far. I have a list of other items pending, like light wheels with summer tires. I've had the car for quite a while, maybe without ever really breaking it in.
I appreciate the data I have been able to pull from this site with searching, and hope to be part of the show as I muck about with the car in the upcoming months.

Added the Progress rear sway bar this week. I need to put more miles on the set up, but it definitely feels sharper. I couldn't get too feisty, as we'd had another round of snow. Enough already, with the spring snow.
Just rolled through 66,000. It's still the city car. It's got water in the spare tire area for the third time in 12 years. I think I will schedule another round of sealing it up in a few weeks. There's still an occasional judder when letting the clutch out in first gear.
I can drive around that, but would it suggest that a clutch would be helpful? Like there's a warp in the pressure plates? It seems to be pretty rpm specific. Any suggestions or other threads.
