Gauge Cluster LEDs?
Gauge Cluster/Instrument Panel LEDs? (reworded so i don't sound like an a**)
I don't believe anything was said about this, but if it was I was unable to find anything. My little sister has a scion tC and i was wondering if anyone has attempted to do this on their Fit? I want to take appart the gauge cluster/instrument panel inorder to modify the leds behind them Not sure if it's possible or not. Unsure how the gauges work on the Fit. Also the odometer readout, are the miles on your car recorded into the ecu or are they held in the actual instrument panel itself? I ask this because I would like to attempt to remove the cluster and modify the leds, but would prefer to purchase a seperate cluster to do so. This way I could take my time playing and modifying everything within it without worrying about having to put it back right away if i need to go somewhere. That and incase i screw something up. =P I have already done this on my sisters tC and it looks geat. A cleaner look then just overlays. Tho i hate the fact she wanted pink leds. XD I havnt takin delivery yet of my fit. I'm still waiting but this is one mod that i would like to do/look into. Any1 have any ideas?

That's a plus. One step in the right direction. btw, I reworded my initial post. I reread it and kindda sounded like I was askin bout a tC, not a Fit. lol. Guess ill be lookin for a cluster and ordering a bunch of LEDs. Hmmm..now i need a color scheme .........
red ...............
green.... .......
I ain't doin pink again. Thats for sure. XD
*Edited* Ouch!!! $316 from honda. Someones gotta have a cheap meter assembly. Maybe someone around my town wrecked there Fit. I'm not one to wish ill will towards another but $316 is steep. Lmao.

It's been done before by people over in the East Asian countries.
The current clusters that the USDM has is on the UKDM spec ones, therefore it's most likely they have it in the JDM markets and it's possible. I think there's a few guides out there on Jap websites.

Thanks alot Kentris. I'll look into that. =) wish i could read jpn tho XD lol Shouldn't be to too difficult to figure out after getting one apart tho. I was mainly worried that the leds in the back were all white and the actual face on the panel was colored and thats how the colors are represented. Possibly a colored filter in the back even. Filters can be swapped tho. I'll figure something out.
Tankist, not a great pic(camera phone) also she has it dimmed about halfway. She says its just to bright when its set higher. Her Headunit and HVAC cotrols are going to been done to match when i get the time.

the pink looks absolutley awesome!
although i think it will be more tiring for the eyes in the long run... i would imagine that since the LED's dont take much space it would be possible to double up on each using some other, less controversial color, make them separate as circuits and switch them on demand. i havent seen the actual cluster from Fit though.
really nice work, dude.
The manual implies the odometer value is held in the gauge cluster (22-161), while maintenance data is in the ECU (11-198). Naturally you need the Honda diagnostic tool to rewrite it.
