CEL after re-installing gauge cluster
I removed my '09 base Fit's gauge cluster to clean/polish the plastic bezel and blow out all the dirt and crap that gets into the dash panel. Simple job, then 4 screws (but watch out for the 2 lower ones, good long magnetic screwdriver here) to remove the gauge pod. After I got it back in, I started the car and noticed I had a CEL . Starts fine and runs smooth, no issues prior to removing the cluster, so maybe unplugging the connector has thrown a code? I switched the key on to roll up the windows but nothing else while it was removed. I'll have to check it tomorrow on my drive to work & see if it clears.

You didn't need to remove the whole cluster just to clean the lense, you only needed to remove the top portion of the cover which is only conected to the power mirror switch

If you got a CEL you should be able to reference the code, I would run it through a scan tool and see what it says

My guess is cause the gauge control module was disconnected and the key was cycled the self check was interrupted and caused the cel to be thrown.
Check the code and clear it its probably nothing.

That's what I figured too, ECU got pissed, like WTF, plug me back in! I ordered a new lens from College Hills Honda $23.91 shipped. Mine had a lot of fine scratches and swirl marks that wouldn't polish out

CEL cleared
Drove to work this morning, CEL still on solid, about 8 miles/20 mins stop-n-go traffic.
After work, cranked it up, CEL was on for a second or so, then immediately went out and has not returned. So I guess there was just something with having the cluster unplugged and cycling the key that confused the ECU for a short time. Hadn't messed with the gas cap or anything else during this incident.

I may get an air duster can to keep by the computer, and just blast that a little if needed - no touch. When I did have the cluster out, some particles had gotten into the dash tray under the removable cover area and needed dusting/blowing out. Here in Florida, it's a constant issue keeping dust/sand off stuff.
