I ordered two LED light tubes and installed them under the dash. The light tubes are hidden out of visibility. I will be adding a switch soon.



I'll make a DIY for the lights and the switch if people are interested.

 

im interested.. if its a automatic turn on when the door opens. and if its white/blue white. how much was it each and can it be put in the back?

 

To make the lights come on only when the door is open you would just have to tap into the fuse for the dome light. I will explain how to do this if I make a how to. I'm sure you can find white LEDs. As for installing them in the rear you will just need extra wire. I paid $28 including shipping from eBay user hwy836. I bought two 12" LED tubes

Im pretty sure their are write-ups on wiring it to the dome light. Ive been debating if i really wanna do it. And Oznium.com sells them, ive only heard good things about them

Here is a simple DIY. I will go into adding the switch and making the lights come on when the door is open after I add a switch. The first thing you need to do is mount the lights. Each light tube comes with two tiny screws. You can make a pilot hole for each screw using a push pin. The plastic is thin so the push pin goes through easy. Here is where I mounted the lights:





Keep in mind that I had to hold the camera at a very low weird angle to see the lights. The light tubes are not visible at all when inside or standing around the car.

Then I bought a splitter for the ciagarette lighter power adapter and double stick taped it to the inside of the glove box.



The wires are hidden behind the dash and plugged into the 12v power source.

Yes^ and I bought a 3-way splitter so I can charge the GPS or cell phone. I am going to wire the switch to the cigarette lighter adapter.

Check out the dome light thread. It's really easy to hook up these lights to work with dome light rather than using an external power source.

Yes the lights and adapter will plug into any vehicle with a 12v outlet or a cigarette lighter.

 

I meant: Will I be able to hide the wires behind the dash in the 09 model? And the glove as well? Sorry, this will be my first car !
